Bilingual Southern Maine Program Manager – Year-round

Maine Mobile Health Program (MMHP) is hiring a Bilingual Southern Maine Program Manager to cover the Lewiston to Portland areas. Maine Mobile Health Program is a community health center focused on supporting Maine’s farmworkers and seafood processors in accessing healthcare. MMHP aims to reduce health disparities and inequities of access for these communities by providing culturally appropriate care and services. The Southern Maine Program Manager (PM) will oversee the execution of direct service activities in a specified region by leading the planning, development, and implementation of harvest specific programs. Travel is a major part of this position!  This position also requires some evening and weekend hours during the apple season.

What you will be doing:

  • Supervise community health workers and other enabling services staff for the specified region.
  • Provide onsite training, monitor development of work plans progress towards goals and execution of MMHP policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with farmworkers, coworkers, growers, community organizations, and health providers.
  • Bridge the gap between communities and health and social service systems.
  • Provide care coordination services on behalf of patients and their families, assisting with referrals and appointment coordination, interpretation, transportation, prescription assistance, and eligibility for insurance or public benefits.
  • Provide driving, clinic intake, and/or interpretation services for mobile clinics as needed.
  • Communicate with clients, staff, and partners in a respectful, culturally appropriate manner.
  • Provide supervision and direct services in the assigned geography as required by season.

What we will need from you:

  • Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
  • Current driver’s license, with good driving record.
  • College degree or equivalent experience.
  • Completion of a CHW core-competency training preferred.
  • Two to three years’ supervisory experience, previous health insurance or physician’s office experience preferred.
  • Daytime, and some evening and weekend hours.
  • Ability to provide services in varied geography.
  • COVID-19 vaccination.
