New CEO Announcement

Dear Patients, Providers, and Partners,

Maine Mobile Health Program, Inc. (MMHP) proudly announces the appointment of Amelia Lyons Rukema as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

She brings years of experience as a leader in migrant education, federal grants, and project management. Her native language is English; she is also fluent in Spanish, proficient in French, and speaks basic Kinyarwanda.

She has extensive experience supporting migrant and seasonal agricultural workers, having worked as the State Director of the Maine Migrant Education Program and with Mano en Mano.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University in Montreal Quebec and is currently earning her Master of Science in Project Management at Northeastern University in Portland.

Before joining MMHP, she worked extensively with the Maine Department of Education as State Coordinator for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth program and served as the interim coordinator of the Climate, Culture, and Resilience Team.

During her time as the Department spokesperson for homeless, migrant, and foster youth, Ms. Rukema successfully advocated for the passage of the Pilot Program to Prevent Student Homelessness within the State House and beyond. She oversaw the administration of this multi-million-dollar program across school districts statewide.

MMHP is honored and delighted to welcome Ms. Rukema to our team and look forward to the energy and leadership that she will bring to our organization. She will start on June 24. Please contact our Interim CEO/CFO Carla Jupiter if you need anything in the meantime.

Sincerely, MMHP leadership and Board of Directors
